the building UIs if they're not added yet.Īlso, just to wildly speculate for a bit, if you were ever interested in porting this game to consoles, particularly the switch (which does actually have touchscreen controls though no-one ever uses them) having controller support is probably the biggest single obstacle on the gameplay code side (not sure what engine you guys are using, though 3rd-party porting services exist if it's just engine stuff that needs to be redirected). Just adding support for navigating the main menu with keyboard arrow keys + enter button, or moving the in-game cursor with the arrow keys, would improve the deck experience quite a lot, and deck users could then 'fill in the blanks' by using the trackpads to emulate mouse movement for e.g. The best part about adding such support to the Deck though is that it could be done iteratively. The grid-based building of this game in particular feels to me like it could suit a controller better than the average city builder/management game. With my time on the deck so far I've been having a lot of fun playing games that work well in small chunks of gameplay, including other (admittedly more traditional) roguelikes such as Cult of the Lamb. One thing I was just thinking of was that I think this game could be really good on the steam deck. ![]() I wanted to especially praise the really high level of UI polish. I just finished the demo and I enjoyed it.
